Fix “olmapi32.dll is incompatible with Microsoft Outlook 2010” Problem

Hi “ I am Denny James a regular Outlook user. Recently, I upgraded my Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010. But after installation process it has become difficult for me to send/receive any emails. Each time, I try to perform this task an error message appears to my display screen in below given format:

“The file OLMAPI32.dll is incompatible with Microsoft Outlook. Install Outlook again”

What is the problem and how I could resolve olmapi32.dll is incompatible with Microsoft Outlook 2010” Problem sooner. If have any idea, please help…..”

Actually, olmapi32.dll is a dynamic link library file that contains lots of information such as data, code and other resources. It plays vital role in smooth and proper PC performance. However, in some situation as mentioned above and many others users encounter with errors related to this file. Presence of this error prevents users to perform any of the tasks with Outlook 2010 or any other Outlook versions. In order to solve this problem you should require following the guidelines as mentioned below.

To avoid this problem all you need is to Uninstall Outlook 2007 and repair Outlook 2010. For this you need to go to control panel and remove Outlook 2007 program. This process is not so easy because any of the office programs doesn’t appear individually in the list of programs. For this, you should require to change the features installed in Microsoft office 2007. In order to do this, you should require following the instructions as listed below:

First of all Go to Control Panel Option
Next, select for “Uninstall a Program” under the “Programs” heading option
Now, Right click on “Microsoft Office Standard 2007 and select “Change” option as displayed in image mentioned below:


After that you can view “Add or Remove” feature. Select the option as marked in image and click continue button.


As shown in the given picture you need to x out “Microsoft Outlook 2010”and by clicking drop down arrow select “Not Available” option and press on “Continue” button.


Now you can view configuration process screen


Finally, you will see success process screen and Outlook 2007 is removed from PC


Now, reboot your PC and you will see Outlook 2010 repair screen as displayed below:


After the ending process, you will see warning screen with an error. All you need to do is to select “No”


In order to repair Outlook 2010, you should require following the guidelines as mentioned below:

First of all go to “Uninstall or Change a program” Window
Click on “Microsoft Office 2010” in Outlook 2010
Select “Change” as in the picture given below
Finally, Select “Repair” option and press “Continue


This process is followed by a "Configuration process" notification screen.


With this process you will be able to repair Outlook 2010 and fix olmapi32.dll is incompatible with Microsoft Outlook 2010 issue . If the problem still persists then might be due to corruption of PST file.
